Crazy hair disco...

Every year the girls school has a disco, and there is always a theme, this year it was the Crazy Hair!  It was the first disco for Paddy and Georgie and they were so excited, they even sat still and let me do their hair, they let me tie it up, then spray it gold, it looked fantastic!
They danced the whole time, I just love the way at this age they aren't shy, boys and girls dance together and everyone just has fun.....long may it last!

11 years married....

On the 11th of June John and I celebrated 11 years of marriage, we had a pretty quiet day and just spent the time with our lovely girls, John did get me a beautiful bunch of flowers, he just spoils me rotten!

Quiz night at school....

John with two Prisilla's (They won the competition for best dressed)

            All the Sumo boys!

Every year the girls school has a quiz night to fund raise money.  I had heard about the quiz, and how the costumes were fantastic and it is all very competitive, well I didn't realise how competitive, the thought and detail that went into the costumes was amazing, we went along as Geisha's and Sumo's, and if I say so myself I thought we looked rather good.......and we gave 5th out of 23 teams in the competition!!

Party for leggie.......

So we had to have a first birthday party for 'Lucy Lucky Walsh', Paddy's name for stumpy!  The excitement was huge, in the end Paddy had a few friends around from school, we watched a movie, had a nice dinner and then we sung "Happy Birthday' to stumpy, it was all very sweet, and Paddy had a fabulous time!

1st anniversary of Paddy's operation.....

Paddy with her leggie on the anniversary of her operation!!

On the 28th of May we had the first anniversary of Paddy's operation.  I can honestly say I don't know where this last year has gone, it has literally flown by!  This time last year Paddy had had the operation, and we were honestly wondering whether we had made the right decision or not.  After the surgery she was in a lot of pain, and was having dreadful muscle spasms, and none of us had had much sleep, emotions were running high!
How things can change in a year, Paddy does everything her sisters and friends do (she even did cross country!), she now walks without a limp, and like all good girls, loves her shoes and now she can wear what ever she likes! She is happy and confident, and we know we did the right thing, no doubt about it at all.

The variety Show......

As always I am very behind on my blogging, so to start it all off with a few weeks ago Emma was in a variety show at school!  It was for year three children and up, and the kids did it all on their own.  All the planning, the organisation and choreography, very impressive.  The only involvement from the teachers was that they couldn't go over two minutes, and in some instances that was a good thing!

                                                                       Georgie

                                                             Georgie at the finish

                                                         Paddy at the finish

                                                       Paddy and her friend Hannah

The mad dash at the start

It has been a while since I have posted, and I have lots to catch up (as always), but I just had to write about the girls cross county today.
The weather was absolutely shitty, who thought it was a good idea to have cross country in the middle of winter?  I was feeling quite nervous for Paddy as I wasn't sure how she would go, she had done really well in the practice runs, but I was just being a nervous Mum!
Anyway our little Paddy who is one of the smallest girls in her year, and only a year ago had her foot amputated did the race and finished, we were so proud of her!  Mum said the people next to her were saying how marvellous she was, Mum got very emotional, I missed all this as I was running around trying to get photo's!  I did hear at the end everyone was chanting Paddy! Paddy! Go Paddy, how fabulous is that!
I said to Paddy I couldn't have been more proud if she had won!  Georgie did really well too as she ended up in A & E with a raging temperature, I got phoned up to come and get her from school, as she had fallen asleep, poor lamb!
All and all a rather eventful day!
